Qualcomm has made a fairly startling SoC declaration on 19th January 2021 as the new Snapdragon 870. The chip is a somewhat odd delivery in Qualcomm's chipset line-up in that this is really a section gotten from a year ago's Snapdragon 865 arrangement, with the new model being a different silicon bin that increases the clock frequencies for a little bit of extra performance and gaming capabilities.
Despite the fact that it's getting a model name that would demonstrate more improvements from the previous generations but there aren't.
credit: QualcommSnapdragon 870 is based on the same silicon chip (SM8250) that we saw utilized in the previous-gen Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 865+ a year ago, it seems that Snapdragon 870 is a part of 865 family.
The only change from the Snapdragon 865 and 865+ which were released last year is a slightly overclocked Cortex-A77 cores, In which clock speed went from 3.09GHz to 3.20GHz.
In the present official statement, Qualcomm shares that key manufacturers, for example, Motorola, iQOO, OnePlus, OPPO and Xiaomi will utilize the Snapdragon 870 in their upcoming flagships.
So it appears to be that this year we'll be seeing new flagship smartphones with both the Snapdragon 888 just as the Snapdragon 870 this year, which will be very interesting to see how that turns out in terms of features, performance, and especially price.
